A restrained interior shaped by material, longevity and trust.
The structure of this approximately 1,500 sq.ft. residence was already complete when the project began. The task was to shape its interiors for a client based overseas who would occupy the home primarily during visits to India, making longevity, low maintenance and confidence in every decision particularly important.
The design approach was deliberately restrained. Rather than relying on ornamentation, the character of the home was developed through a controlled material palette, considered detailing and consistency across individual elements.
Italian marble was carried throughout the residence to create visual continuity, while a limited colour palette allowed the materials and architectural details to work together without competing for attention. Hardwood, veneer, PU finishes and durable kitchen materials were selected not only for their appearance, but for their performance and longevity.
Several details were also designed with future adaptability in mind. The glass-fronted crockery unit, for example, uses hardwood shutters beneath its painted finish, allowing the same construction to be refinished in the future without replacing the unit itself.
The result is a home where restraint becomes a form of luxury — not through excess, but through consistency, material quality and carefully considered decisions made with the client's long-term use in mind.
